The group of independent distributors, which has created the brand Bricomarché, is currently negotiating the purchase of another retail chain specializing in diy : Bricorama. The approximation would give birth to the number three sector in France.
Les Mousquetaires (Intermarché, Bricomarché, Brico Cash…) and Bricorama entered into exclusive negotiations by signing “an agreement non-binding and preliminary, with a view to a reconciliation without a public purchase offer. Only be concerned with the activities in France and Spain : the real estate and the activities in Benelux of Bricorama will continue to be operated under franchise with the group Intergamma.


The amount of the acquisition was not disclosed but the scope of the operation represents a turnover of 500 million euros on a turnover, which was€ 700 M. Founded in 1975 by Jean-Claude Saddler, the independent group now has 164 stores in France and employs more than 2,500 people. Its net result exceeded€ 23 M annual in 2011, collapsed – while remaining largely positive, reaching€ 12 Million in 2016. He claims the position of fifth player in the diy market in france.
