The activity of the craft of building is accelerating in the second quarter of 2017




According to the figures of economic conditions, released by Capeb, 19 July, activity increased 2.5 % in the second quarter of 2017. It is carried in particular by the construction of new housing.
Carried by the momentum of new construction, the rebound of the activity of the craft of building has accelerated in the second quarter of 2017, underlines Capeb, on Wednesday 19 July 2017. The professional organization is a state, and a 2.5% increase in the volume of business on the quarter, or the pace is the highest since growth returned in early 2016 in the sector, from 1.5% during the first three months of the year.

“The recovery in global activity in the sector continues, driven by the dynamism of the new construction (+4,5%), but also, to a lesser extent, by the activity maintenance renovation (+1%), details Capeb in a press release. In addition, the sales of old dwellings recorded the highest level ever observed since 2001 (the origin of the statistical series), promising beautiful days for the activity in maintenance and renovation.

 

According to Capeb, the effects of the recovery begin, “timidly” to be felt on employment in the crafts of the CONSTRUCTION industry, which grew by 0.3% in the first quarter.

 

The hiring intentions for the second half of 2017 are on the rise, adds the professional organization. In fact, 21% of companies want to recruit against 10% one year earlier the same period. On the other hand, those who have made one or more hires in the first quarter of 2017 remain in a minority : 27% say they have sought to recruit over the first six months of the year and 7% did not succeed.
