Invent new ways of living on and at the water’s edge

From 35 sites identified in march 2016 and the 72 projects were studied by panels of experts, partners and elected officials, “this cross-disciplinary approach has clearly demonstrated the keen interest of architects, urban planners, artists, start-ups, developers, actors in the CONSTRUCTION industry, to the territories around the river Seine, report the three communities in Paris, Le Havre and Rouen in a news release. The goal is to”invent new ways of living on and at the water’s edge.”

Floating Structures, bridges, cafes, ephemeral architecture

Floating Structures, bridges, cafes, ephemeral architecture and resilient or homeless… These ambitious projects are called, since the start of the contest, to be ambitious. “The 72 finalists’ projects are a kaleidoscope of uses and buildings which are unique, on the water or on the banks. They are the fruit of multicultural teams, combining both local associations of the great groups of the real estate or the provision of urban services, enriched sometimes by the intervention of foreign partners from, for example, Belgium or Denmark”, argued the cities of Paris, Rouen and Le Havre.

In the coming weeks and the coming months, the winning teams will be required to confirm their bid, to establish the acts necessary to the provision of land (according to the sites, occupancy agreement, temporary assignment…) and move through the successive stages leading to the effective completion of their project.
