Recovery Plan motorway : Sanef on all fronts in the Hauts-de-France

DECRYPTAGE. At the time when the group of Spanish motorway Abertis has announced this Monday to have taken control of 100% of Sanef, its first projects of the stimulus plan highway signed in 2015 out of the ground in the image of the A29 motorway, located between Amiens and Saint-Quentin (Hauts-de-France). Objective : to broaden the band of the emergency existing.

A construction of 31 km


A construction of 31 km, located between Amiens (Somme) and St-Quentin (Aisne), where the objective has been to expand as early as 2016 the tape of the emergency existing on 31 km, between junctions with the A1 and the A26. “For the important work being undertaken on lot 1 by Eurovia and the batch 2 by Valérian, the traffic conditions will change for the users of the section, we explain the April 25, 2017, Jerome Gap, responsible for the construction of the recovery Plan’s motorway group Sanef. This project scope must be completed by the summer of 2017.”


Abertis takes control of 100% of the Sanef
The group Spanish motorway Abertis announced on 25 April 2017 to have taken control of 100% of the French Sanef, redeeming for 238 million euros, the participation of the insurer CNP, the last step of an operation that started in January. Abertis expects a “positive impact of approximately € 15 million” on its net income in 2017, and explains to have fully consolidated Sanef in its accounts, via the Holding Infrastructures de Transport (HIT), which owns 100%.


This is the fifth time since January that Abertis buys of investments in Sanef, after Caisse des dépôts et consignations (CDC) in January, Axa Czech Republic and the insurer Predica in march, and those of the family Peugeot last week. In total, Abertis has paid for these purchases approximately 2.1 billion euros, according to the calculation of the AFP. “Net debt will increase in the same proportion as the price paid to redeem Sanef said the Spanish group, whose primary market is France with Sanef, which manages approximately 1.760 km of motorways with tolls, mostly in the north of the Hexagon.

Furthermore, Abertis is currently in the process of studying a merger with the dealer Italian Atlantia to create a global giant of the highways, which could take the form of a public purchase offer (OPA) friendly Atlantia on Abertis. “It is in discussion, we don’t know anything about it”, a-t-on learned at Sanef.
