The extension of the house SPE of Spéracèdes (Alpes-Maritimes) is part of a movement of the ground. Imperceptible from the rear of the property, it offers in contrast a large glass area open to the panorama. Guided tour.
A provencal villa has an extension to the three sides : of stone, glass and greenery. It blends well into the local environment. The architect Ellena Mehl explains : “The existing home is to the image of the houses of the region : a rectangular plan, compact, symmetrical, with a roof with two slopes of tiles and main entrance in stonework. The proposed extension is a project landscape. It just fit between the house and the next board“. Situated at the end of a small lane rural, the building of 141 m2 is built on a hillside. It, therefore, enjoys a clear view but his land is on a slope, punctuated by the boards and the small terraces, which follow the curves of level.
The contractor took on the challenge of implementing an extension of approximately 120 m2 in two levels in an unobtrusive way. “Placed at the mid-level, it is connected by under-implementation by the central staircase, re-balanced by its intermediate level“. By a half-flight of stairs, so it is possible to access a basement full housing a pantry, a laundry room and the technical premises (heating, sanitary hot water from solar panels) as well as a cellar. The floor, meanwhile, includes a bathroom open to the outside, a large bedroom facing south and a walk-in closet.
