FRAUD. Last year, the construction sector accounted for 51.2% of the adjustments coming out of the fight against illegal work. In total, these have been a total of 555 million euros, a figure that is up 20% compared to 2015.
284 million euros. This is the amount of the adjustments from the fight against illegal work in the CONSTRUCTION industry in 2016. This figure accounts for 51.2% of the total amount (555 million euros), making CONSTRUCTION the first industry in the area and one of the main targets of the controllers. The podium is completed by the administrative services (11.1% of total) and the industry and the hotel-café-restaurants (all two ex-aequo to 4.2%). These data have been made public on the 27th April by the national Fund of the network of the Urssaf (Acoss).
All sectors combined, the amount of the adjustments is an increase of +20% between 2015 and 2016 – after an increase of 15% between 2014 and 2015. The number of inspections carried out decreased, however, by 4% (to 7,000 in 2016). This decrease is due, according to the Acoss, by “the growing complexity of the situations of work concealed conditions encountered, requiring investigations longer and more in-depth”. The explosion of work on secondment, in France, in recent years, there is probably something.
Other impressive figures : 89% of the controls in the framework of the fight against fraud gave rise to a recovery. In other words, the services controls are “fly” almost all of the shots, which gives an idea of the character very often illegal labour in the French economy.
