Now that the building permit for the tower project Duo, designed by Jean Nouvel, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, is purged of all remedies, the work of this book iconic have been able to be officially launched this may 18, in the presence of the architect, Pritzker Prize 2008 and Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of the capital.
After a long fight legal, conducted in particular by the association Monts 14, the developer, Ivanhoé Cambridge organized may 18, 2017, the “groundbreaking ceremony” of the two towers Duo in the 13th arrondissement. An event organized in the presence of Bill Tresham, president of Ivanhoe Cambridge, Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, Jérôme Coumet, mayor of the 13th arrondissement, president of the SEMAPA, Laurent Mignon, ceo of Natixis and Jean Nouvel, the project architect, Pritzker Prize 2008.
Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, said Thursday, “the towers of Duo will participate to enhance the attractiveness of the capital city and the entire Metropolis of Greater Paris. They will be the incarnation of the link between Paris and Ivry-Sur-Seine, an architectural realisation of the beautiful, will take place in a harmonious whole of several buildings.”

In his turn Jean Nouvel, has stated that he wanted to “play with the reflections, day or night. (…) The slight inclination of the Duo will go and look for these games to optic and to multiply the images in motion. The towers look as if they were passing the head through the window to look at the perspective of the avenue de France. And they will dialogue, like two dancers in balance who care about their environment.”
