The minister of ecological Transition, Nicolas Hulot, announced, Thursday, 10 August 2017, have selected 109 projects that respond to two calls for tenders to develop photovoltaic plants in Corsica and in the overseas departments, for a total of more than 75 megawatts (MG).
- Corsica is full of energy transition
These new projects of electricity generation from renewable sources“confirm the dynamism of this sector, which is going to take a more and more important in our generation of electricity over the coming years”, the minister said in a press release.
Objective : to strengthen the energy independence of Corsica, Guadeloupe, Guiana, Martinique, Reunion and Mayotte
Recall that the call for tenders launched in December 2016 for photovoltaic plants equipped with storage devices, and the tender for installations in self-consumption for the purpose of strengthening the energy independence of Corsica, Guadeloupe, Guiana, Martinique, Reunion and Mayotte, while ensuring a transition to electricity production that is carbon-free compatible with the ambitions of the Climate Plan.
In the same press release, the ministry of the ecological Transition reminds us that “for pv plants equipped with storage devices (batteries), of the 67 projects the winners of the tender will be able to benefit of a tariff guaranteed purchase of the electricity produced, at an average price of 113.6 eur/MWh, competitive against the full costs of production in these areas (on average € 200/MWh).”
This price is down more than 40% in relation to the tender prior to 2015, said the ministry.
For the second call for tenders, regarding the installations in self-consumption, 42 projects have been selected. The winners (shopping centres, industrial) will benefit from a premium averaging 34,19 € /MWh.
Finally, on the set of two calls for tenders, more than 50% of the projects are committed to making a call to the investment to be participatory and will see their premium increased as of 3 € /MWh, says the ministry. “This level of commitment reflects the desire of citizens and communities take ownership of the energy production and to guarantee the energy autonomy of their territories”, was completed by Nicolas Hulot.
