LAUREATS. The social Union for housing (USH) has awarded this June 28, 2017 to a young filmmaker and his great price film on the occasion of the 5th edition of the contest “HLM sur court(t). Details.
It is in front of a packed room that the jury of the contest “HLM sur Court(t)”, organized by Union sociale pour l habitat within the framework of the national Week of Hlm, has distinguished the winners. At the end of the projection of the films, the cinema Star Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the 5th prize of the short film contest was awarded to Adeline Picault for his quirky point of view on social housing.
His short film, “Babysitters” is a portrait of two teenage girls. “The jury particularly appreciated the truth and the vitality of the performers, humor and flowery dialogues of this film which makes us share the first time a teen who is waiting with her best friend on the steps of a Housing project that something to happen,” said the USH.
Shot in a residence of landlord Paris Habitat, in the neighborhood of the Olympic games (13th arrondissement), this first film plays mischievously with the clichés related to the HLM. “I wanted to talk about two teenage girls who seek to make a revolution in intimate and combat the boredom by dreaming, “said the director, Adeline Picault at the discount price, reports AFP

The other two short films have been rewarded: “Vis-à-vis” by Frédéric Zamochnikoff who received the award of the interpretation and a special mention of the Movement Housing, given by all the employees of the social Union for habitat. Of his hand, “Contemplation,” Catherine Gazères, has been distinguished by the award of originality.
Since the launch of the contest, the 16 short films made have achieved 150 selections in festivals and won 20 awards. “Hlm on court(t)”, aims to contribute to the fight against misconceptions about the HOUSING, enabling young filmmakers to share a personal vision and original of the social housing units and their inhabitants.
